Winthrop's Board of Trustees voted unanimously June 19 for no tuition increase for the 2024-21 academic year. Room fees will be discounted as a result of the decision to move to remote instruction after Thanksgiving. Meal plans will see an increase.

President George Hynd announced that with the health and safety of students and the campus community its highest priority, Winthrop’s fall semester will begin online Aug. 24 with delayed in-person instruction until Sept. 8.

Matthew Cordell was awarded The Caldecott Medal, the most prestigious award in children’s book illustration. In May, he will share "Hello, Neighbor!" with readers across the world to honor the man and the legendary show, "Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood."
